French 10: Article Resources

Online Research Resources - Databases & Journals

The LACC Library has a multitude of databases (over 50!) which contain full-text access to articles (scholarly journals, magazines, newspapers), reference entries, statistics and more.  You should note the name of the database you are using such as "Academic Search Complete" or "Gale Virtual Reference Literary," as EBSCO and Gale are hubs and not the database itself. So when you need a librarian to help you navigate a database they will not know which one you are referring to if you mention "EBSCO" vs. "Academic Search Complete."

Below are some databases to get you started for your research assignment.

French newspapers online:

Le Figaro - daily morning paper published in Paris

Le Monde - French daily afternoon paper

Newspaper Databases:

You can find articles on your topic by using keywords or phases that cover what you are searching for in databases. If only a few sources pop up look at the words and phrases used under the subject headings of the articles. This will help you narrow your search language by letting you know the "authority language/terms" scholars used to describe their work.

You also have export options: you can email or download your article as well as export citations for your paper.
